This transformation has been addressed in numerous academic studies within the field, presenting a variety of perspectives. Our edited volume titled "Rethinking Media in Light of Current Discussions and Trends" emerged with the motivation to contribute new insights for a better understanding of different aspects of digital media. To this end, our six authors contributed to this work through seven distinct topics. We briefly touch upon these studies below, which address "artificial intelligence," "street art," "practices of consuming digital media," "disinformation," "digital media content," "internet news platforms" and “representation of climate migration and climate refugees issues in youtube videos” in various contexts and through different methodologies. As mentioned above, the emergence of digital platforms has led to significant, even radical changes in the production and consumption practices of series, films, and programmes, reaching a substantial audience in Turkey and worldwide. This transformation, part of the new media system, undoubtedly creates an important area of study in the context of generations. Erdem Türkavcı’s work titled "Construction of Intergenerational Differences on Ott Platform Series: Narrative Analysis of The Netflix Production As the Crow Flies Series" examines the construction of intergenerational differences through the Netflix production "As The Crow Flies," forming another section of our book. Artificial intelligence is currently at the forefront of discussions in the field of communication and there is growing curiosity about its future trajectory. Feyza Dalaylı and Fatma Yüksel, in her work titled"Artificial Intelligence and Human Communication: My Holo Love TV Series Analysis," examines the current state and potential future of artificial intelligence and human communication through the South Korean series "My Holo Love," which consists of ten episodes, offering a unique perspective. Health journalism has become an increasingly important field, especially following the Covid-19 pandemic. Helin Öztürk’s article titled "Source Usage In Health Journalism: A Comparative Study of TRT And BBC" aims to contribute to thisarea. This study analyses health news published on the internet platforms of Turkey’s public broadcaster TRT and the UK’s public broadcaster BBC over a three-month period, conducting a content analysis based on eight parameters focusing on topic distribution and source usage. Climate and climate issues, while being one of the most important matters of the 21st century, have also begun to find a place in media studies in recent years. In her study titled “An Analysis on the Representation of Climate Migration and Climate Refugees Issues in YouTube Videos,” Lale Şeyda Gülsoy discusses the role of social media in relation to climate issues by examining concepts such as “climate change literacy” and “climate refugees”. Limiting mass communication tools to traditional media or digital platforms often proves inadequate. Mehmet Yakın takes a step away from common mass communication tools in his work titled "Rethinking Media Through Street Art: An Analytical Study of Banksy's Impact," examining how the mysterious figure Banksy has transcended the traditional boundaries of street art and how it interacts with global audiences on contemporary social and political issues. Recently, one of the most discussed topics in the field of mass communication, especially in our country, has been "disinformation." In this regard, Semih Salman’s work titled "The Relationship Between Disinformation And Digital Literacy In Communication Strategies: A Study on Digital Media" is of significant importance. The study comprehensively investigates the phenomenon of disinformation in digital media and digital literacy. Digital broadcasting platforms have transformed our media consumption practices as well. Sena Coşkun addresses the concept of binge-watching, which refers to "the excessive viewing of multiple episodes of content at once or within a short timeframe." In his work titled "Bibliometric Analysis Of Articles Published In Turkey On Binge-Watching," he examines academic studies conducted in Turkey on binge-watching from 2019 to 2023, uncovering various findings to understand the impact of digital platforms on media consumption. The works of our esteemed authors contributing to this book are presented to readers in alphabetical order, considering the authors' names. We hope that our book will be beneficial, especially to our students, colleagues, and all readers, and we wish you enjoyable reading.

Therefore, the dialogue between different areas of knowledge is essential for the understanding and solution of the diverse challenges we face. This book, "Multidisciplinary Studies: Management and Legal Sciences", is born of this understanding, bringing a comprehensive and integrated perspective on important topics that permeate management and law. Management and the legal sciences, although traditionally seen as distinct fields, share a deep interdependence. Business and administrative decisions are inevitably shaped by regulatory and legal frameworks, as well as legal legislation and practices are influenced by organizational and economic dynamics. This book explores this intersection, highlighting how the collaboration between managers and jurists can generate innovative and effective solutions to contemporary problems. Throughout the chapters, readers will have the opportunity to discover a diversity of approaches and methodologies that reflect the nature of the topics covered, will find practical cases analyzes and theoretical studies. Each contribution enriches the understanding of how these areas can interact productively. Thus, in the world where change is a constant, the ability to integrate knowledge and collaborate beyond traditional boundaries becomes a strategic differential. "Multidisciplinary Studies: Management and Legal Sciences" is a valuable contribution to this movement, offering tools and reflections that enable managers and jurists to navigate more effective and creativity in todays and tomorrow challenges. We hope that this work will inspire not only greater understanding between the areas of management and law, but also a more collaborative and innovative professional practice. May it serve as a starting point for new research, debates and, above all, to the practical application of interdisciplinary knowledge that contribute to the common good. Good reading!

The Intercultural Dimension of Foreign Language Teaching, Learning and Assessment: Theory and Practice Edited by Prof. Dr. Dinçay KÖKSAL Dr. Özlem KARAAĞAÇ TUNA Published by : Global Academy Publishing House ISBN Number : 978-625-8284-98-0 Publishing Date : March 22, 2024 Doi number:https://dx.doi.org/10.59740/academy.65 All rights of this book belong to Global Academy Publishing House. All chapters published in this book have been double blind peer reviewed. The individual essays remain the intellectual properties of the contributors. ©Copyright March, 2024 FOREWORD When foreign language teaching, learning, and evaluation are viewed through an intercultural lens, it becomes clear that language has evolved into a process that includes intercultural interaction and understanding, rather than simply teaching words and grammatical rules. In this context, culture, which is an inherent part of language, is an important factor that enriches and adds meaning to language learning. The intercultural dimension of foreign language teaching aims to provide students with context and communication skills that extend beyond language. Understanding that language is more than just words and grammatical rules allow students to better understand the societies and cultures in which the language is used. The intercultural dimension in language teaching informs students about the social norms, traditions, behavioural patterns, and values of the societies in which the language is spoken. This allows the language learner to interact more effectively with his or her contacts while also developing culturally sensitive communication skills. Furthermore, the intercultural dimension of language learning provides an opportunity to understand how the language is used in real life. Language is more than just the act of putting words together; it also includes the ability to understand how to interact within a community using those words. For example, teaching students cultural elements such as everyday expressions, traditional rituals, expressions, and slang enriches their practical language use.The intercultural dimension in assessment processes takes into account students' language proficiency not only through grammar and vocabulary, but also how they communicate in a cultural context. Exams and performance assessments can be tailored to evaluate students' cultural sensitivity, expressiveness, and language skills in a cultural setting. The current curriculum and the design of new curricula are critical in language learning. Curriculum design is a planning and organizing process that guides educational processes. Curriculum design and intercultural competence play an important role in enriching educational programs and providing students with a global perspective. When intercultural competence is integrated into this design, students have the opportunity to learn about elements of different cultures such as art, literature, history, and language. This broadens students' perspectives and helps them understand cultural diversity. Integrating intercultural competence into curriculum design aims to help students develop intercultural communication skills. Aside from grammar and vocabulary, communication skills include intercultural sensitivity, empathy, and effective communication techniques. Intercultural communication skills are developed by giving students opportunities to interact with people from various cultures. Improving intercultural communication skills has become a key learning objective in today's globalized world. In the classroom, students can learn intercultural communication skills through a variety of effective practices. Intercultural discussions in the classroom, cultural exchange programs, culturally themed project studies, participation in cultural events, intercultural communication simulations, and intercultural sensitivity training are all effective studies that promote learning through experience while also strengthening cultural interaction in language teaching. These classroom practices are designed to provide students with the skills and awareness required for successful intercultural communication. This allows students to acquire not only language knowledge but also the social skills required for successful intercultural interaction. This book examines teaching, learning, and the intercultural dimension in language education, both theoretically and practically. The book, which includes original research, offers new perspectives for teachers by addressing developmental methods. We would like to thank the authors and experts who contributed to the present book. We'd like to thank the entire publishing house team for their contributions to publish this book. • SPACE in TURKISH

Any person who commits any unauthorized act in relation to this publication may be liable for criminal prosecution and civil claims for damages. @Copyright March 2024 PREFACE In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of linguistic studies on space in Turkish. Considering that such a fundamental semantic category is ripe for further research and acknowledging that such processes may be challenging, any shortcomings in this book can be more comfortably evaluated within scientific tolerance. Whether this book, which is neither the first nor the last research on space in Turkish, is of high quality will be determined over time; however, it can be said with humility and ease of mind that it is a modest start in its field. A research book should be original, and the researcher should discover something others have yet to say (Eco, 2018). From a dialectical perspective, every scientific research must benefit from previously drawn roadmaps. This book frequently refers to previous roadmaps to gain a broad perspective, deep conceptual framework, and consistent methodology required to achieve original research quality and contribute to the field in the analysis of spatial language in Turkish. Space is a semantic concept that includes the locations and motions of entities in space and the human being as an observer. Spatial language, the study area of spatial semantics, contains spatial expressions, which are the conventional specifications of the location or translocation of a particular entity. Metaphors or conversational implicatures do not count as spatial expressions. Spatial frames of reference, deixis, topology, toponymy, motion and lexia concepts are at the centre of spatial expressions based on figure and ground relations. In many Turkish sources that use prescriptive grammar methods, the place given to the subject of space is limited. The number of linguistic studies on spatial language in Turkish is also low. This book aims to explain the stages, levels, and tools used to code spatial knowledge as a linguistic category in Turkish. For this purpose, the bracketing method listed and analysed spatial expressions. It has been determined that the elements that become “location” in the static spatial relationship are usually formed with /+DA/, /+DAki/, and /+ki/ morphemes. The elements that become “goal”, “source”, and “route” in a dynamic spatial relationship are usually formed with /+A/, /+DAn/ and /+I/ morphemes. The noun phrase-based ground coding strategy is dominant in Turkish. The spatial relationship is established with the case category and word types (spatial nominals, postpositions, adverbs, and verbs), word groups (noun phrases and adjective phrases), and spatial texts larger than sentences. Spatial nominals can be phrased with case suffixes, possessive suffixes, and postpositions. Spatial information is not only from words, phrases or sentences but more intensively and accurately extracted from spatial lexias. For this reason, in linguistic studies on spatial language, attention should be paid to the pragmatic context of communication and the text-linguistic references in utterances. This book was produced from a part of the doctoral dissertation titled “Spatial Language in Yaşar Kemal’s The Wind from the Plain Trilogy”, prepared in 2023 at Uşak University, Graduate Education Institute, Modern Turkish Language Branch.
